Problems installing software? On some systems, clicking on the text links will start installation from the CD to your hard disk. Generally it is best to locate the program's folder on the CD and run the installation from there, or copy the folder to your hard disk first.

Some Windows applications may require the win32s 32-bit extensions in order to run in Windows 3.x. If you are running on a Win 3.x system and haven't already got win32s installed, click here to set it up. Or, if you have problems with a Win 3.x application, install win32s then.

JASC's Paint Shop Pro is becoming more and more a serious contender in the graphics software market. Now into version 5 (released for Windows 95 in April), it comes as close as you could expect to doing the magic of Adobe Photoshop and is indeed compatible with most Photoshop plugins and has some additional tricks up its sleeve. Have a go with this evaluation version.

Here is one heck of a program – you only get to use the trial 15 times, but that should be more than enough to convince you...
ColorWorks Web 3 has it all (or very nearly) – excellent image editing tools are combined with a range of Web graphic features such as GIF animation, pallette optimisation, 3D text, seamless tiling and much more – you'll just have to try it.
To use some of the program's features, you may need to install Open GL files. You will find the files in the SPG WEB GRAPHICS SUITE\OPENGL folder on the CD – copy them to the SPG program folder created on your hard disk.

This is a plugin for your paint program (e.g. Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro or any compatible program) that provides improved 'signal to noise ratio' when compressing images in the JPEG format.
To install, quit your paint program, copy the files HVSJPEGU.8BF, HVSJPEGU.8BE and HVSJPEG.HLP from the software\windows\graphics\hvsjpeg folder on the CD to your paint program's plugins folder, then restart the program.

You can run IrfanView directly from the CD – you may first need to install some VB5 system files: click here to install the VB5 files, then return to this page and run IrfanView32. Or, once you've installed these system files, copy the irfview folder from the software\windows\graphics folder on the CD to your hard disk and run the application file i_view32.exe from there.
